Brent's new Under-10 girls' team acquitted themselves well in their first Capital Girls' League match against a more experienced Barnet Nightingales side.

Although Nightingales won the match, which was played in difficult weather conditions, there were lots of positives for Brent to take from the match. The girls played quick attacking football with Apollonia Margetson standing out. Apollonia scored a great individual goal and provided four assists for striker Kathleen Ferreira who scored some top quality goals, one of which can be seen in the brief video clip above.

Marley Huber worked hard to support twins Scarlet and Marnie Hunn in defence and protecting goalkeeper George Stone who did a good job between the posts. Scarlet also made an excellent contribution.

Both teams can be pleased with their efforts after what was a very good game. Brent coach Patricia Taylor commented “I’m very proud of the girls. They are improving all the time”.

Team:  Apollonia Margetson, Georgie Stone, Marley May Huber, Scarlet and Marnie Hunn, Cathleen Ferreira
