On Saturday 27th October, Brent Schools' FA's Under-11 squad took part in a tournament run by the Arsenal FC Academy at their state of the art training ground.
Brent started slowly with a 1-1 draw against Afewee Urban in which Kalungi scored for Brent. This was followed by a 0-0 draw with South London.
Brent then sprung into action when Kalungi’s swerving run led to the winner in a 1-0 victory over AFC Wembley before Le’Kai scored a brace against Global Football Academy in a 2-0 win.
Troy smashed in the equaliser and Fabian tapped in a last minute winner to give Brent a 2-1 against Wandsworth.
The strong finish to their fixtures meant Brent won their group and played Barnet in the final. Barnet were sharper in the final and eased home. However Brent impressed as runners-up and Casper Lindner (pictured) won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award to crown a fine day.
Brent coach Paul Woodford observed: “The boys showed great resilience and progressed throughout the tournament”.
