Brent's Under-13 played their final fixture in this season's Compton Cup away to title contenders Hillingdon. With one eye on next season, Brent gave debuts to four players; Amit Chauhan, Ayodele Oke, Naaeb Alamyar and Hadi Hussain.
Hillingdon took the lead with a shot from outside the box. The wind helped the ball into the net, giving Brent's goalkeeper had no chance. Despite this, Brent were playing some good football with Shyon Dennis and Che Marlon pressing the Hillingdon defence constantly.
Brent equalised through Shyon Dennis; a high press created the opportunity and he ran through on goal and scored. However, Hillingdon scored again and to take a 2-1 lead.
Brent continued to play some good football and had a couple of chances to score, one of which was converted by Che Marlon.
Hillingdon took advantage of a defensive error to regain the lead. However, Brent responded with an excellent 10 minute spell which enabled Amit Chauhan to score on his debut with a well-taken goal. Brent kept Hillingdon under pressure and finally broke them down again, with Marlon supplying Chauhan again to grab his second goal and put Brent into the lead with 10 minutes to go. However, Hillingdon underlined the championship credemtials by equalising in the dying moments
Brent coach Alvin Bubb said “It was a good display from the boys with some excellent debuts. I am very proud of the team.”
