Brent started brightly when Zack Zebiri hit the post after a poor clearance before Tyreece Pollendine saved well at the other end to keep the scores level. Kalungi Lovell then played a great through ball to Deon Selmani who smashed home to take the lead for Brent.
After the break Bexley equalised early in the second after Brent were caught in possession. However they responded well and an inch perfect through ball from Armend Muslika found Naeem Giscombe who slotted home with panache to make the score 2-1. Armend then hit the crossbar but Brent couldn’t hold the lead and a scramble in the goal mouth led the match being levelled at 2-2 before Bexley took the lead after good pressing on their right flank.
Naeem almost equalised after another inch perfect through ball from Armend but this time Naeem rounded the keeper but couldn’t quite finish from a narrow angle. However he made amends when he deflected a Bexley clearance into the corner of the net for 3-3.
Naeem turned provider as another threaded ball put Troy Kelly in to place the ball calmly into the corner for 4-3. His second goal soon followed as Troy snuck in on goal on the left and poked home after the keeper saved his first shot. Brent rounded off the victory as a powerful run from Danny Gobishavi Por Asl and a chip to the far post found Naeem who deftly touched home for his hat-trick.
Coach Paul Woodford observed that “Brent again grew in confidence as the game continued and played some measured attacking football.”
