Brent U14 Girls 1-1 Alexandra Park
A superb first time shot from the edge of the box by Christie Morros-Zazzara gave Brent an early lead in their best performance of the season as the U14 Girls were held to a draw by Alexandra Park.
Morros-Zazzara’s strike capped a superb flowing team goal which started at the back; this epitomised the improvement that Brent have showed of late.
Brent created the better chances. Amira Rubinos drove through from midfield in one of several marauding runs but her fierce left foot shot flew agonisingly into the side netting.
At the other end Alexandra Park attacked and Brent keeper Sara Khene made two fine saves to keep Brent’s lead intact.
The Brent defence of Poppy Morgan, Pele Fakahau, China Nansi and Violet Kapetanios worked well as a unit to limit their opportunities and kept the Alexandra Park attack at bay. Kate Fox began to dictate the play in midfield but still Brent could not find the second goal to extend their lead.
Alexandra Park continued to battle bravely and were rewarded when, late in the second half, a speculative long shot sailed into the net to level the and the game ended 1-1.
Brent coach Shaun Bragg “I am very proud of the team. They work hard in training and are improving every game. It was a great performance and a great way to end the year”.
