Princes Park claim the honours at Euro 2020 Festival

England against Germany wasn’t the only big game in town last week; Brent Schools FA held a tournament for Primary Schools in celebration of UEFA Euro 2020.

Played in the shadow of the Wembley Arch at Ark Academy, schools from all over the borough battled to claim the title of Borough Champions, putting on a superb, high-quality display of competitive football. With the teams inspired by local hero Raheem Sterling as well the performances of Europe’s finest international teams, every match was played in a great spirit.
The final was played between the outstanding teams from Preston Park and Maloroees. Preston Park just edged the contest and lifted the trophy (pictured, above). Brent Schools FA tournament organiser Joe Pascoe said: “Thanks to the staff at Ark Academy especially Tyron Devonish who worked really hard to make the day such a success and ensure the event was run in a Covid safe way. It was great to see the children enjoying their football after a very challenging year”.
