Ensuring Safe and Responsible Communication:
Brent Schools FA’s Commitment to Social Media and Child Protection
Brent Schools FA supports The FA’s Social Media policy, which aims to safeguard children and young people involved in football. Like other leading organizations, The FA utilizes platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter to communicate with a broad audience. However, with the benefits of modern communication come increased risks to children and young people, which must be properly managed. Everyone involved in football has a duty to safeguard both on and off the field.
Brent Schools FA commits to ensuring that safeguards are in place. Coaches, officials, referees, mentors, and those in positions of responsibility must communicate responsibly. As per The FA’s recommendations, Brent Schools FA does not rely on texting as the primary form of communication between adults and young people in football. Any platform should never be used for personal communications or informal banter.
Brent Schools FA ensures that all content on its websites, social media pages, and associated message boards follows The FA’s Rules and Regulations. The club appoints responsible adults to monitor online content, and young players are encouraged to inform a trusted adult if they encounter any communication that makes them uncomfortable or if they are asked to keep the communication secret from their parent or carer.
