Haringey 5-5 Brent
Saturday 2nd February 2019
Haringey started this Middlesex Schools’ FA Subsidiary Cup match brightly and took an early lead after a cross miraculously found the top corner. Brent responded but Haringey were awarded a penalty which they confidently dispatched.
A corner from Armend Muslika was flicked on and poked home calmly by Le’Kai before Haringey extended their lead with a sharp finish from outside the box for 3-1. Brent responsed by putting the Haringey goal under intense pressure. Eventually, Danny Gobishavi Por Asl found the net and Le’Kai finished his second with a well worked goal from distance that went in off the post for the equaliser.
Haringey regained the lead before a further flurry of Brent shots was blocked before Troy Kelly poked home for 4-4.
Brent then took the lead as numbers in the box told and Danny added his second. Haringey equalised with another penalty before Fabian Prela almost won the match for Brent in the final moments.
Brent manager Paul Woodford commented that his team had been part of “A very exciting game with end to end action and a determined spirit from Brent to repeatedly come back”.
