U11 Girls too strong for West Kent – Brent Schools’ Football Association

U11 Girls too strong for West Kent

West Kent 0-3 Brent

Surrey Schools’ FA, U11 Girls’ League, 29th October 2016

Brent’s U11 Girls’ side continued their impressive start to the season with an away win at League leaders West Kent. The home side went into the match with a 100% record, but it was Brent who controlled the match from the start.

Brent enjoyed early sights of goal, testing the West Kent ‘keeper and hitting the crossbar within the first ten minutes. After a fantastic bit of pressure from Kashish Thobani, the West Kent defender’s clearance bounced off the Brent striker and fell perfectly for Shakira Kafero-Roberts (pictured) who took a single touch and fired the ball past the ‘keeper to give Brent a deserved 1-0 lead at half time.

Brent took their momentum into the second half and just two minutes after the restart Kafero-Roberts grabbed her fourth goal in two games after taking on three players from the half way line and scoring from the edge of the box with the outside of her boot. The rest of the half was confidently controlled by Brent, especially thanks to defenders Caitlin Finnerty, Nia Bowman and Sarah McDermott reading every West Kent attack with ease. With five minutes left, Bowman carried the ball forward from centre back and magically dribbled past four players before powering the ball into the back of the net for a much deserved first ever goal for Brent. The final score was 3-0 to Brent Girls.
