Under-12 girls tame Tuffnell Park

Brent Under-12 Girls 4-2 Tufnell Park

Brent started this friendly very well. putting lots of pressure on Tufnell Park.  Brent took the lead when Kate Fox pounced on a rebound from a shot by Olivia Henry and blasted the ball into the top corner .  Brent dominated possession but could not extend their lead.

However, after 20 minutes, their pressure paid off; a fantastic through ball from Pele Fakahau to Henry enabled the striker to shoot into the bottom left corner of the goal. Henry then turned provider for the third goal when she sent a superb cross into the box for Georgie Stone to coolly slot home.

Tufnell Park came back strongly in the second half. A tactical shift saw them play almost everyone behind the ball which made it harder for Brent to break them down. At the same time, Tufnell Park were proving dangerous on the counter-attack and scored twice in quick succession to come back into the game. However, Brent held their nerve and  Olivia Henry scored minutes from the  end to seal the 4-2 win.

Brent coach Patricia Taylor commented that “I was very pleased with the way we played and proud of the girls for putting in a good shift.”
