Brent U12 Girls 6-0 Queens Park Sharks
Capital City Academy
A superb hat-trick from Scout Waddington propelled Brent to victory in a game that was much closer than the score line suggests. Waddington opened the scoring with a slick finish after 5 minutes. Then, neat interplay between Keely Dibley-Dias and Chloe O’ Donoghue released Maya Rosenberg and she made no mistake with a calm finish into the corner of the net.
Captain O’ Donoghue made it 3-0 just before half time, dribbling past two defenders before unleashing an unstoppable drive into the top corner. At the break, Brent made changes introducing Kathleen Santos Ferreira in attack and Elizabeth Ulusele and Raya McIntosh in defence. The Sharks came out strongly and Brent keeper Milly- May Blue pulled off a reflex save to deny them. Buoyed by this, the Sharks had their best spell of the game passing well and forcing Brent back. Sophie Kew made a superb block and Raya McIntosh showed great composure when passing out from defence.
McIntosh started the move that put the game beyond the Sharks. She slipped the ball to Apollonia Margetson who threaded the ball to Tirion Lewis on the left. Lewis outpaced her marker, releasing O’ Donoghue to score her second of the game with a fierce shot from the edge of the box. Waddington then completed the scoring with a snap shot after a goal mouth scramble and then capped a good passing move racing into the box before smashing the ball into the net.
Chris Ampofo commented “The team are really enjoying their football. Some of the passing today was superb. They really work hard in training and are getting better with every game”
