Brent’s new Under-11B team took on Haringey on Saturday and, although they were ultimately beaten 4-3, the squad put in an excellent performance.
Brent battled back from 1-0 down to lead 3-1 at half time thanks to goals from Jack Egan (2) and Joel Otaraoh.
Brent played with a confidence that belied the fact that the team has been put together at short notice.
Brent conceded a minute after half time as the hosts sought a way back into the match. Haringey finally equalised in the 45th minutes and completed their comeback by scoring the winner with the last kick of the game.
Coach Joe Pascoe said: “The performance by the boys was fantastic . To concede in the last minute was hard as they deserved at least a draw. There were lots of positives today. I am really proud of them. They are improving with every game.”
