Brents young football stars have started to shine at the highest level.
First Giuseppina Carnevale, captain of the Brent Girls triple winning team , received a Middx county cap for her 6th appearance playing for the Middx and helping them to a superb 2-1 win vs The Army to retain the Southern Counties Cup. It was a significant landmark as it was the last game of head coach Craig Nicholson who had been at the helm for 44 games. Nicholson who has championed woman’s and girls football stepped down after the win.
If the county wasn’t enough two young Brent stars made their debuts for England U15 school girls. Angelina Bramble and Rachel Oware both made their debuts in the friendly England v Wolves. Oware showed great composure on the ball and Bramble received the Player of the Match Award for a magnificent performance scoring two goals. Bramble scored England’s second goal sprinting down the left wing then cut in and driving the ball just inside the post. Then with England 3-2 down she outpaced the defence to latch on to an excellent through ball and showed a cool head passing the ball into the net completing a scintillating performance.
Brent Chair Chris Ampofo “Giuseppina is a great player and seeing Rachel and Angelina playing for England is fantastic.
This is testament to the many volunteers who coach and support the Brent Girls teams that we have from Under 9 up to Under 18. They play a huge part in developing girls football and we are all super proud of these brilliant young players”
