Brent U12 Girls 3 – London Eagle 1
Brent U12 Girls came into Saturday’s Cup Final against London Eagles on the back of an unbeaten run that had seen them already clinch the League title in style. But Saturday’s Cup Final saw them pitted against their toughest test yet in the shape of a London Eagles side that was brimful of threat and physicality.
Brent’s high press and intensity saw Eagles penned into their own half from the first whistle, with Brent midfielder, Grace Billingsley dominating the early battles, and the early pressure soon paid dividends when the tenacious Lila Coulson contested a seemingly lost ball on the bye-line before squaring to her strike-partner, Eva Carnevale, who swept into the net from close range for 1-0. And the lead was doubled before the half-time whistle when a slide-rule pass from Ruby Cooper put Carnevale through for her second, slotting the ball calmly past the on-rushing keeper.
The second half saw Eagles come out fighting with a noticeable increase in tempo and intensity. Brent goalkeeper Ottie Williams was kept on her toes by a series of shots from the outside of the area.
Brents defense of Syrie Dunham, Amelia Achom, Isla Fraser and Daisy Staniford needed to be at their best to keep the fired-up Eagles front line at bay.
Ruby Cooper broke and delivered a pin-point cross to the ever-dangerous Carnevale who lashed it into the back of the net to claim her hat-trick with ten minutes to go. Eagles showed resolve and were rewarded f when striker Zelda pounced to pull the game back to 3-1.
Brent responded by bringing on fresh legs in the shape of super subs Annie Jaeger, Laila Abkhite, Mila Gorasia & Ada Dunford Wood, who showed superb game management, guiding the match through to the final whistle and a victory that saw this dominant Brent side finish the season unbeaten as both League and Cup Champions.
Coaches Doug Cooper & Paul Billingsley commented: ‘This is a special group of girls that is starting to reap the rewards of four years of hard work and teamwork. They play with their hearts on their sleeves and smiles on their faces. We couldn’t be more proud of them.’
Brent U11 Red Girls 7 –
Regents Park 1
Brent Girls U11 Red put on a commanding display in their 7–1 victory over Regents Park, showcasing skill, teamwork, and determination in every area of the pitch.
The match began with Brent quickly finding their rhythm. Midfield dynamo Leonore set the tone with a powerful drive straight through the heart of the opposition, twice finding the net and nearly adding a third with a thunderous strike that rattled the crossbar. Debutant Sienna soon added a memorable goal of her own—dancing past two defenders with confidence before beating the keeper at the near post with a precise finish.
Maisie led the line brilliantly, grabbing two well-taken goals, while Shayla, also making her debut, proved far too strong and quick for the opposition, scoring twice and terrorising the flanks. Amelie’s constant movement created space for Brent’s relentless attack, drawing defenders and opening up chances.
In defence, Shayna was exceptional at right-back, delivering her best-ever performance, while Sophia impressed and came close to scoring after cutting in from the wing and striking the post. Leah moved from left-back into midfield, where her tackling and incisive passing cut through Regents Park’s lines repeatedly. Regents Park scored a consolation, but it was Brent’s day.
Tallulah Swaby showed electrifying pace to gain possession and score and give Brent the lead but Ealing struck back to win 2-1.
