Brent U12 Boys 3-3 Camden Elite (4-3 pens)

Brent’s U12 Boys squad knocked Camden Elite out of the Regents Park Youth League Cup, winning on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Brent started the game very well, scoring a goal inside the first minute. Danny Gobishavi hit a strong finish into the bottom left corner from the left side of the box. The lead lasted just two minutes, Camden Elite equalising almost immediately.

The frenetic opening to the match saw Brent regain the lead,  Darwaish Alamyar scoring in the 10th minute with a composed finish inside the box.

The first of three penalties in the game was awarded to Camden, which they converted in the 25th minute.

Brent soon replied 3 minutes later with a penalty of their own, which was scored by Nate Smith.

Camden equalised again just 5 minutes into the second half.

This would be the last goal of the game due to both good defunding from the Brent side and a couple of magnificent saves from their goalkeeper Thiago de Souza Filho, who ensured the tie went to penalties.

Camden started the penalty shoot-out and converted.

After a miss then a fine save from Thiago de Souza Filho for Camden’s fourth and fifth penalties respectively, James Scollan slotted home the winning penalty for Brent, to put them through by 4-3.

Brent and UCFB coach Chris Dutton: “I am very proud of the players. They showed real spirit, resilience and were rewarded with a great win.”
