Brent Schools’ FA congratulates AFC Wembley Under-16s on winning the Harrow Youth League Cup.
After a hard-fought and well-contested Final against Hanwell, the game ended 2-2 with AFC Wembley grabbing a last minute equaliser to send the game into extra time.
There were no further goals, meaning that the winners of the trophy would be determined by a penalty competition. AFC Wembley – who have three Brent Schools’ FA players in their squad and are managed by by former Brent player and coach Ian Braithwaite – held their nerve.
AFCW were crowned League Cup champions after beating Hanwell on penalties 3-1, with Javell Simpson scoring the winning penalty. Given the strength of the Harrow Youth League, this is a superb achievement and we send huge congratulations to all involved.
