Letchworth & Baldock 1-7 Brent
Herts. Schools’ FA, Bill Saunders Memorial Trophy, 19th November 2016
An excellent performance by Brent’s Under-11 Boys’ team saw them get their first three points of the season in the Hertfordshire Schools’ FA’s Inter-District competition.
Brent created four good chances to score in the opening moments but went 1-0 down after just 6 minutes.
To the Brent boys’ credit, this setback spurred them on; goals from Shea and Riordan put the visitors ahead at half time.
The second half saw Brent push forward to score more goals and secure victory. Shea completed his hat-trick, with goals from Riordan, Rafael and Christian helping Brent to secure the points in emphatic style.
After the match, team manager Mr Pascoe observed “Some of the link-up play today was really nice to watch. I was also delighted with the manner with which the team saw the game out. Alongside that, though, the most pleasing thing today was that all the substitutes had a big impact on the game. Well done to all the players involved today.”
Next week, the Under-11 boys play Haringey in the London Schools’ FA Crisp Shield.
