Brent U11 Girls 3-0 United Dragons
Brent won this hotly anticipated Regents Park League Cup Semi-Final 3-0 against a spirited United Dragons team. The game sprang into life early on with some hard-hitting challenges from both sides and with Brent dominating early possession, they broke the deadlock with Armit Eva playing a through ball to Nancy Wales who skipped past two players and curled a shot into the top corner.
The second goal came only minutes later following a well-rehearsed corner routine with Romy Lawson playing a corner to the edge of the box and Charlotte Fraser driving a fierce shot into the bottom corner.
Thereafter, the Dragons had a few chances but the Brent defence of Sienna Varsani and Olivia Ridley-Swettenham made some great tackles and on the odd occasion when the defence was breached Lois was on hand to make some great saves.
Edie Morgan and Deena El-Hashima both went close with good efforts but Dragons fought bravely and Lois Ampofo made two excellent saves to keep Brent in front. Brent responded well to the pressure and Charlottes Fraser clinched the victory, gaining possession due to a defensive mix up to score with a thunderous long-range drive.
Brent Coach Justin Morgan said: “This was a hard-fought victory and the game was by no means as easy as the scoreline might suggest. I’m incredibly proud of each and every girl in the squad as should they be of themselves having made it to the Cup Final.“
