The Brent Schools’ FA Under-11 girls blasted their way into the semi-finals of the Regents Park Youth League Cup with an emphatic win over United Dragons Blue. Brent dominated the match and were the highest scoring team in the four matches played.
The Brent U11 Tigers (pictured, above)also put on a superb performance against Highgate to earn a nil nil draw. This team, which includes several girls who have just started playing football, created chances but despite their best efforts could not find the back of the net. Lauren was impressive on her debut. Romy, Ruby and Olivia who are relatively ‘senior’ players in the team at age 10, continue to grow in stature.
Bibliana, Syrie, Feda and Sylvie also impressed. A late brave save from Lois helped them keep a clean sheet in an entertaining game with many signs that the team have a bright future.
Coach Doug Cooper was delighted with both squads’ displays but said of the Tigers: “I’m very proud of the team. They are improving every week” and joked “we will be working on shooting and finishing in training”.
