Hampstead (Youth) U13 Girls’ 1-5 Brent Schools’ FA U13 Girls
Brent Under-13 Girls bounced back from defeat against Watford Ladies Hornets to record an emphatic victory away to Hampstead Girls on Saturday 1st October.
Brent were quick to impose themselves on the match, Noelani Agyeman opening the scoring with a close range finish after just five minutes. In the fourteenth minute, Millie Glover skipped past two defenders before pulling the ball back to Agyeman who doubled her tally and Brent’s lead. The rest of the half was dominated by Brent but it was Hampstead who got the last goal of the half with a fantastic free kick from 20yards out that sailed into the top corner.
In the second half, Brent’s defensive line of Jasmine Mainoo, Jessica Kwayie, Angel Acheampong and Jennifer Grey were completely dominant and didn’t allow Hampstead a single shot on target. Instead, Agyeman was demonstrating her raw power and pace by grabbing a further two goals to take her personal goal count and Brent’s tally to four. With six minutes remaining, a precisely lofted through ball by Jada Pollendine was skilfully knocked on with her shoulder by Glover who then blasted the ball past the ‘keeper for her first and Brent’s fifth and final goal of the game.
Coaches Joe Khalfi and Ronan O’Rourke said, “This was just what the girls need to show after the Watford game. Now everyone’s confidence is back we can hopefully start a good run of results with this momentum.”
