U15 Boys overwhelm Camden & Islington – Brent Schools’ Football Association

U15 Boys overwhelm Camden & Islington

Brent maintained their winning start to the season, comfortably beating Camden & Islington 8-1. This was the second successive match in which Brent had scored eight goals and they could have got well into double figures if they had taken advantage of all the chances they created during the game.

Brent could have been well ahead in the opening minutes of the game missing several very good chances before Javonn Donville Munroe put Camden & Islington ahead in the 8th minute, beating his man and turning towards goal before scoring from just inside Brent’s penalty area.

Brent’s Felix Amoah saw two efforts go close before Brent’s Saul Mensah’s exquisite lob over the Camden & Islington defenders played in Dominic D’Souza who equalised with his shot going just under the body of the goalkeeper in the 11th minute. Shortly afterwards, Mason Spencer saw his free-kick just clear the Camden crossbar before Shammar Swaby saw his shot from the right of the goal tipped around the post for a Brent corner.

Spencer’s through ball from midfield played in D’Souza who saw his effort saved at the foot of the post before Amoah saw his effort from outside the penalty area saved with the ball hitting the post and going out for another corner.

Brent had Camden & Islington under constant pressure and scored 3 goals in as many minutes. Firstly, Javarn Barnard passed to D’Souza and his cross from the left of the penalty area was tucked away with aplomb by Saul Mensah from close range in the 23rd minute. Barely a minute later, Brent increased their lead when D’Souza headed home from William Ribeiro’s cross from the right.

Moments later Swaby was played in on the right by Spencer and his first time effort on the half volley was fired home with finesse and power before the goalkeeper was able to react.

Brent continued to attack the Camden goal with Amoah hitting the right hand post from a shot well outside the penalty area before Mensah saw his lob just clear the crossbar and D’Souza shooting wide to keep the score down to 4-1 at half time.

The second half started with Brent once again attacking their opponents’ goal at will and Spencer saw his free kick go inches over the crossbar before Spencer and Mensah linked up well before passing to D’Souza who saw his shot well saved.

Swaby twice went close shooting just wide before Mensah was tripped in the penalty area and D’Souza scored from the spot to complete his hat-trick in the 56th minute.

Amoah went close again shooting just wide before Brent scored their 6th goal from a Spencer corner that was tipped onto the crossbar by Ribeiro and Amoah reacted quickest to poke the ball home for a well-deserved goal.

Brent scored their seventh and perhaps the best goal of the game when Swaby and Jhamali Esprit exchanged passes outside the penalty area before Swaby played in Esprit who controlled the ball before firing the ball home in the 73rd minute. Brent scored their 8th when Mensah found Spencer on the right of the penalty area and his shot from an acute angle went in at the far post just under the crossbar.
