Brent U15 Girls 6-2 Alexandra Park
Brent’s U15 Girls bounced back from a difficult start to defeat Alexandra Park in the Capital Girls’ League Division 1.
Alexandra Park took the lead but Brent responded Maya Rosenbeg then passed to Club Captain Giuseppina Carnevale who equalised with a 25 year drive before Chloe O’Donoghue gave Brent the lead with one of her trademark thunderbolts.
Brianna John Etiko then got in on the act scoring with a neat finish to put her team 3-1 up but Alexandra Park fought back to reduce the deficit and make it 3-2.
Alexandra Park piled on the pressure but outstanding defending by Keely Dibley Dias, Olivia Macarthur, Sophie Kew and Maddie Muir kept Brent in front. Gracious Olamona put on another excellent performance but it was Carnavale who calmed Brent nerves when she then rifled in her second from outside the box to make it 4-2. As the clock ran down, clinical finishing by John Etiko and O’Donoghue who burst through to shoot home made the final score 6-2.
Brent coach Marco Carnevale commented: “The girls showed great character today to get a win. I’m very proud of the whole team. They all contributed”.
