A record 20 girls enjoyed football in the sunshine at the Brent Schools’ FA’s Wildcats Football Club. Wildcats is an initiative supported by The FA and SSE and is aimed at helping 5-11 year old children to get involved in the game.
SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Clubs provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls. The Brent Schools’ FA sessions take place on Saturdays between noon and 1.00pm at Capital City Academy. They are ‘drop-in’ sessions and open to all.
The Chairman of Brent Schools’ FA, Chris Ampofo, commented ‘These sessions are growing in popularity and are a great way for girls to play. Everyone is welcome; it doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before, you can just turn up and have fun. We’re delighted to be part of this nationwide initiative and hope to get more girls playing every week.’
